Mazarakis and Agarwal are brilliant in Scozzie Gold

PJS’s Platon Mazarakis and Avi Agarwal took to the courts at the Fairmount Club in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania this past weekend to participate in the Scozzie Junior Gold event.

Platon (BU17) played nearly flawless squash on his way to the finals by winning 2 matches in 3 game fashion and the other 2 in 4 games.  Platon’s focus on what needed to be done was superb and his squash was at an all time high level of play.

Platon met his match in the finals losing a tough 3 gamer to the #1 seed form PA.

Great tournament Platon.

Avi played very inspiring squash throughout the whole event.  He did not drop a game in the 4 matches that he played.  He beat the #12 ranked player in the country in the semi-finals.  He then went on to dismantle his opponent in the finals with a decisive 11-5, 11-6, 11-5 shellacking.

Upon returning to PJS both players commented on the support between the the two of them.  Both Platon and Avi were cheering each other on during their contests.  This is what squash is all about.  Both players handled themselves with great poise and sportsmanship.  PJS is very proud to have such great ambassadors to the game.
