PJS’s own John Gunton (U13) stormed into Cleveland Ohio to take the Cleveland Gold Junior Tournament on the weekend of April 21-23.
Seeded #1 in the event John faced players from Illinois (1 opponent) to New York (5 opponent). Focused as usual, John took the first challenger from Illinois in easy fashion 11-1, 11-5, 11-3. Rounds 2-Finals the opponents were from New York.
John raced through the event losing only an average of 4 points per game for the entire event. Each round John appeared to up his game exponentially to meet the challenges of each progressively tough round.
The final seemed to be the only challenge for John when he went overtime in the first game 12-10. The rest of the match was routine, 11-8, 11-3.
