Princeton Junior Squash Coaching Staff


Gail Ramsay-Chief Executive Officer and Lead Coach-is currently the Head Coach of Princeton University Women’s Squash. Since she took this position in the 1994-95 season, she has led the Lady Tigers to a total of 5 national championships. Between the years of 2007 and 2009 her teams amassed 3 National Titles, 2 Ivy Titles and 2 undefeated seasons.

A graduate of Penn State, Gail won 4 individual intercollegiate squash championships. In addition, she achieved a number 2 national ranking and represented the United States at 2 world team events. Her 9 national doubles titles in both the women’s and mixed divisions are a testament to her versatility, skill and savvy play.

In 2006 Gail became a director of Princeton Junior Squash. She has co-directed the Princeton Squash Camp since 1987 to the present. Gail is currently the treasurer of the College Squash Association and has, over her 27 years of college coaching, has been the President of the CSA on 5 separate occasion. Bill Ramsay-assistant Lead Coach and Administrative Director-Both as an administrator and a lead coach, Bill Ramsay has been on the PJS staff since 2009. He has a rich history of local, regional and national competitions spanning from 1968-1994. His achievements include 6 National Mixed Doubles titles (with his sister, Gail) and 1 National Men’s Doubles title. Throughout his early career he was a highly ranked junior player attaining number 2 in the national U15 and number 4 in the U19 age groups. He was ranked as an adult as well. He attended Fordham University and majored in Economics. Bill played #1 for the team all 4 years. In his senior year at Fordham he was awarded dual honors as a College Squash All-American and as “Athlete of the Year”.
During his 33 year career, Bill has coached several junior players who have gone on to win national championships and who have had competed successfully on Ivy League teams. Bill is a Level 2 Coach and is dedicated to helping juniors fulfill their potential through fitness, technique and an understanding of winning strategy.

Richard Hankinson-Senior Staff Coach and PJS Board Member a 1962 graduate of Cambridge, has been playing squash for more than 50 years. He learned his coaching skills in England and is certified as a level 3 coach. Richard is nationally ranked near the top of his age group and most recently has been finished in the top 10 in the World Age group events.

dedeDede Webster Senior Staff Coach and PJS Board Member- is a co-founder of PJS and is currently the varsity coach at Princeton Day School. She has worked for many years in the Princeton summer camps and, during the academic year, she teaches classes held at Dillon Gym for the University Community. She is also head of the physical education program at Princeton Junior School. During her playing career, Dede earned a national ranking of number 4. Here she is pictured with Carly Grabowski whom she introduced to squash as a child. A former student at PJS, Carly went on to become a captain and number 1 player at Lawrenceville school.  She served as a co-captain of the Princeton University Women’s Team and was a member of the Princeton women’s 2007 and 2008 national championship team.

Moustafa Hamada- Moustafa joined the PJS coaching staff  in 2018 as a result of becoming the assistant Men’s squash coach to Sean Wilkinson.  He comes to Princeton from Trinity  in Connecticut where he was a four-year starter and eventual co-captain.  He helped lead the Bantams to national titles in both 2013 and 2015. A former Egyptian Top 10 player as a junior, Hamada followed his successful Trinity career to both play at the professional level and begin his coaching career in the West Chester area. His passion for the sport led him to run his own professional tournament in 2017, but his desire to return to the collegiate game led him to accepting the position at Princeton.

Hesham Aly– joined the PJS coaching staff in the fall of 2018 as a result of being hired as the assistant Women’s squash coach under Gail Ramsay.  He brings terrific international experience as both a player and coach.  He was a former top-10 junior from Alexandria Egypt, who won three national league championships with his club program, and was a consistent member of the Egyptian junior national team. His 12 years of coaching experience prior to joining the Princeton staff included time with some of the top players in the sport, including Nour EL Sherbini.
He spent two years as the Director of the Squash Academy at the Alexandria Sporting Club for two years before moving to the United States in 2017.
