Will Maschler took to the courts this past weekend February 10-12, at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia (RCOP) to take on the 19 player field of entrants in the Racquet Club of Philadelphia Bronze Tournament.
Will started off the tournament with a bye putting him in the round of 16 for his first round match. Will tore through his first opponent losing only a total of 9 points (2, 4, 3). The next 2 matches seemed to be a repeat of the first match with Will dismissing them in like fashion only allowing his opponents to reach 7 or more points per game twice in 6 games.
The final pitted Will against a stiffer opponent who had 2 tougher matches on his way to the final. Will got hit early in the first game with an errant shot which caused him to have to take a 2-3 minute break to compose himself and recover.
Upon returning Will seemed to be more focused and determined than ever. He went on to win the final 12-10, 11-9, 11-7.
Way to go Will. Keep up the great work on court.
