Venkateswarans fair well at Lifetime Winter Junior Silver

PJS’s own Shreya and Arjun Venkateswaran recently took to the courts at Lifetime Fitness in New Jersey.

Shreya played the U15 and Arjun played the U11. Shreya was pitted against former PJSer Liz Zhao and was bested in 3 close games. Shreya then went on to the consolation where she ran the table all the way through. In the final of the consolation for 7th-8th place, Shreya got a re-match against her 1st round opponent. This time she won in 5 hard fought games. Way to go Shreya.

Arjun played in the U11 and and in a draw of 8 players finished 4th. Arjun played fellow PJS’er Shrikar Gopinath and won in 3 games. In the semi-finals he played the #2 seed and was beaten in 3 straight games. He then went on to the 3/4 playoff and had a tough 3 game loss.
